The Rexel Super Cup kicked off the 2026/27 season: On 22 August, the reigning German champions and DHB Cup winners faced off in a sold-out SAP Garden in Munich. In the men's clash, SC Magdeburg secured a clear 38:31 victory over Füchse Berlin, while in the women's match HSG Blomberg-Lippe took on Borussia Dortmund.

The next Rexel Super Cup will take place as early as 21 August 2027 – once again at the SAP Garden in Munich. Tickets for the grand season opener are available at the official Opel HBL ticket shop.
